6AL-4V- Aerospace grade titanium.
This grade of titanium consists of 90%
titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium.
6AL-4V titanium is much stronger than its
commercial grade counterpart and will not
scratch as easily. In addition, the
aluminum in the aerospace grade allows for
a shinier finish.
Commercial (CP)- Commercial grade
titanium.
This grade of titanium is
softer
than aerospace grade titanium. CP titanium
is used by some jewelry manufacturers, but
this
grade of titanium is prone to scratching.
